The AFC Fylde Community Foundation is reporting a 97.5 per cent increase in its annual turnover, with thanks to funding from key partners from across Lancashire.
The contribution of businesses and partners from across the North West, such as AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s lead sponsor, BAE Systems, and new partners the Royal British Legion and Cuadrilla Resources, is invaluable to the Foundation’s work in the community.
The funding has also meant that the Foundation has been able to engage with an unprecedented number of young people in the area, working with over 1,000 children of nursery age each week, compared to 450 last year.
Four new full-time team members have also been recruited to deliver the good work of the Foundation in the community, with outreach recently expanded into areas such as Preston, Chorley and South Ribble.
Speaking of the scheme, Francis Egan, Cuadrilla’s chief executive, said: “We are proud to be working with three local community football clubs on the Fylde Coast to deliver a fantastic package of physical training and learning opportunities for young people in the local area over the summer.”
