Accrington Stanley Women will host a special women’s football festival at the Wham Stadium on Sunday 2nd March, which will include their North West Womens Regional League – Division One North match against Radcliffe FC Women.

Free entry has been announced for the event, which gets underway at 11am in Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue.

Kick-off is at 2pm, with Stanley Women looking for another three points as they continue their promotion push against a Radcliffe side, who currently sit just two places and three points behind them in the league.

Stanley Women currently have a large number of games in hand on the clubs above them, due to several successful cup runs including a place in the County Cup final.

It is the second time that Stanley Women have played at the Wham Stadium this season, having hosted their historic FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town there back in November.

No tickets are required for the game, with free entry available for all those attending, while Clayton Park pies and peas will be available to purchase on the day.

Alongside the match, there will be a fantastic range of activities happening on the day from 11am in Coley’s, including giveaways from huge brands, a ‘beat the goalie’ competition and the chance to win a brand-new car courtesy of Accrington Garages, with more details to be announced over the next week.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to meet and learn more about some of the club’s sponsors, with the likes of e.l.f. Cosmetics UK handing out over 200 branded tote bags featuring a range of their products, while Accrington and Rossendale College will be in attendance with a special interactive game.

Sami Smithson, chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: “We are very excited to be back playing at the Wham and not only that, but we will also be hosting a very special women’s football festival.

“International Women’s Day takes place on Saturday 8th March and what better way to celebrate it, than with our very own festival, with some fantastic giveaways and activities for everyone to get involved in.

“With free entry to the event and to the game, we can’t wait to see you all down at the Wham for what will be another wonderful community event.”

Warren Eastham, CEO of Accrington Stanley, said: “We are delighted to be hosting another Accrington Stanley Women game here at the Wham Stadium.

“These games are always very well attended and with some great activities taking place on the day, we look forward to hosting another amazing event here.”
