Accrington-based iMEP were presented with a specially framed shirt ahead of Accrington Stanley’s New Year’s Day clash with Grimsby Town at the Wham Stadium.

The shirt was handed over by chair of Accrington Stanley Women Sami Smithson as a show of appreciation for iMEP’s ongoing support to the club, while the presentation was also attended by Accrington Stanley commercial director Warren Eastham, Sundown Solutions COO Kelly Groves and Kimberley Whitehead from Hyndburn Borough Council.

iMEP are front of shirt sponsors for Accrington Stanley Women, as well as sponsors of the Eric Whalley Family Stand and the control box at the Wham Stadium.

To mark the occasion, players and club officials from Stanley Women attended the match en masse, posing for a celebratory photograph ahead of the game, before watching the action from the iMEP sponsored stand.

Over 120 Stanley Women players and their families attended the game as beneficiaries of Accrington Stanley’s free community ticket initiative, which makes attending games at the Wham Stadium more accessible to all.

Sami Smithson, chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: “It has been a fantastic opportunity to show our appreciation to iMEP for their ongoing support to the club.

“We have over 270 players at Accrington Stanley Women and it has been great to see so many of them coming out in force to cheer on Accrington Stanley. We would like to thank both iMEP and the club for making this happen today, we have really enjoyed ourselves.”

Eddy O’Brien, CEO of iMEP, said: “At iMEP we are passionate about our local community and both Accrington Stanley and Accrington Stanley Women are a huge part of that.

“It was really touching to receive a framed shirt and we can’t wait for the second half of the season for both clubs.”

Warren Eastham, commercial director at Accrington Stanley, said: “Through the free community ticket initiative that we run as a club, we can bring people from all areas of the community to the Wham Stadium and it has been a real pleasure to welcome players from Accrington Stanley Women today.”

iMEP offer everything from lighting, sound, staging and special effects, to fully managed music and theatre event production.
