Accrington Stanley fans to enjoy free stadium tours this August

Accrington Stanley will open its doors for free stadium tours this August, with two dates announced for fans to take a closer look around the Wham Stadium.

Following the success of last summer’s tours, supporters are being invited to enjoy a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the club, on Friday 2nd August or Friday 16th August, with time slots available for 1pm or 3pm.

The free tours will be limited up to 24 people at a time, with supporters encouraged to book their places to avoid disappointment.

Fans will get the chance to see Stanley’s brand new changing rooms, world class hospitality facilities, history timeline, learn more about the fantastic history of the club, plus much more during the tours which will be led by Accrington Stanley’s supporter liaison officer, Robert Houseman.

As one of the original founder members of the Football League, the tours will provide a unique experience for football fans from across Lancashire and further afield, with supporters from around the world already regularly attending matches at the club including from Brazil, Norway and the Netherlands.

There is also an additional option for visitors to pre-book coffee and cake for after their tour, which will be served in Coley’s and priced at £7.50 per person.

Those attending the stadium tour on Friday 16th August are also being encouraged to make a weekend of it, with Stanley playing their first home game of the new League Two season on Saturday 17th August when they welcome Harrogate Town to the Wham Stadium.

David Burgess, managing director of Accrington Stanley, said: “We are delighted to announce two dates where our supporters will get the chance to come and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the club.

“Accrington Stanley has so much history, but mix that with the incredible modern facilities we have here at the club and we have so much to offer and to showcase to our supporters.

“There are only 96 spots available for the tours, so we would recommend booking your free place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
