Access to Finance hits jobs milestone

Access to Finance Lancashire has helped the county’s businesses create more than 300 new jobs since 2015.

Access to Finance Lancashire is available to Lancashire businesses and is fully funded by Lancashire County Council and the European Regional Development Fund.

It exists to help county businesses to find and secure finance and is operated by a team of former banking professionals and finance experts.

The service has been delivered by GC Business Finance since 2015 and since then, the team has now supported 437 businesses, which have created a combined 305 jobs since working with Access to Finance Lancashire.

The support received by Lancashire companies through the Access to Finance Lancashire service has also resulted in funding offers worth a combined £30m. 

Mark Gibbons, senior Access to Finance adviser, said: “Since the Access to Finance Lancashire service began, we’ve worked across many sectors helping businesses maximise opportunities while supporting many in dealing with major economic issues such as Brexit, the Covid-19 lockdowns and more recently the cost-of-living crisis.

“Businesses have become more resilient, and for many that has included understanding and sourcing finance either to grow, innovate or to simply improve their cashflow position.
