Are Excel spreadsheets compliant software?

A standard spreadsheet is not compliant however we can discuss with you a way to bridge your spreadsheet so it can then communicate with HMRC. However this would only be a temporary fix so obtaining compliant software like Xero remains critical.

Can I be exempted from the scheme if I don’t have internet access?

You can apply to HMRC for an exemption from the scheme if you’re unable to use a digital system due to your age, a disability, where you live or if you object to using computers on religious grounds.

Which software is right for me?

Your current software may be compliant; a full list is available on the government website. At Egan Roberts we recommend Xero for its effective but ease of use. We are all Xero Certified Advisors and are available to help and guide you through the MTD process.
