£2m funding to help Lancashire businesses go green

Businesswise Solutions, a Lancashire energy specialist, has joined a unique collaboration of public and private sector organisations to support businesses across the county to go green.

Operating under the brand ‘Chamber Low Carbon’, the £2m, three-year partnership is offering companies across the county a free suite of services aimed to help them improve efficiencies, reduce their carbon footprint and save money.

Businesswise Solutions will work alongside the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Lancashire County Council’s Boost programme to ensure the benefits of the scheme are realised right across the county.

Frazer Durris, managing director of Businesswise Solutions, Nelson, said: “The Government has a long-term commitment to delivering a low carbon future and has set a timeline of objectives to work towards.

“Chamber Low Carbon has been launched to tackle these objectives; helping Lancashire businesses to identify and deliver small scale efficiency saving opportunities as well as advising on future proof solutions to meet the demands of a low carbon economy and increase renewable energy generation.

“With a wealth of successes in delivering energy improvement programmes to clients across multiple disciplines, we are very well placed to play a key role in the project and look forward to leading Lancashire to a better, low carbon future.”

Every business which signs up to the project is entitled to support on environmental and energy saving projects, which will be delivered via a suite of masterclasses and 1-2-1 support, including on-site energy reviews.

The programme is also available to support any Lancashire businesses working to develop new carbon reducing technology; helping them access to the grants and guidance needed.
