AGENDA

  • Light breakfast and Networking (9am to 9.30am)
  • Welcome and General Introduction (9.30am)
  • Emma Swan (Partner and Head of Commercial Employment), Forbes Solicitors

Providing a summary of key employment law updates.

  • Alexandra Hawksworth (Curriculum Manager) and Rebekah Heys (WBL Training Coordinator), Burnley College

The team at Burnley College will be sharing the support they can offer to local businesses who are looking to recruit, upskill and develop their existing teams. A proactive and employer engaged college there are several options available that can support you and your business.

  • Jaydee Davis (Operations Director), Community & Business Partners

Jaydee will be discussing a new programme of support, following a £1,000,000 investment from LCC called Watchtower. The programme is specifically aimed at the Advanced and Manufacturing Sector (AEM) focusing on recovery and growth from the pandemic. There are 3 areas of support including innovation, diversification, and a skills support service; identifying AEM businesses that have workers at risk or made redundant, supporting those individuals, and ultimately identifying businesses that are recruiting to match and retain our highly skilled workforce.

  • Rachel Haslam (Director of Awesomeness), Team Academy

In a climate where recruiting is tough and unemployment is at an all-time low, this interactive and engaging session will focus on what we need to retain our workforce. Protecting the talent we have rather than lose our talented teams and struggle to replace them.   Rachel’s highly engaging and impactful talk covers the 5 key elements that businesses need to enrich teams and leaders. V.A.L.U.E. Rachel explains how to develop trust through sharing successes, being vulnerable and showing up.

  • Emma Swan (Partner and Head of Commercial Employment), Forbes Solicitors

Closing Remarks

Ask the Expert – from 11.30am to 12.00pm members of Forbes Solicitors, Burnley College, Community & Business Partners and Team Academy will be available to answer any individual questions or queries you may have in relation to your organisation / employees.

Please note: In the event of over subscription, where two colleagues are wishing to attend from the same organisation, we may have to request only one attends. Community & Business Partners will be in touch the week before the Forum if applicable.
