Everyone is welcome to our Light Up a Life remembrance evenings, which provide a poignant opportunity to bring people together to honour our loved ones.

The dedication evenings will take place on Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd December from 5.30pm, and will include music, readings, refreshments, and opportunities for remembrance. The beautiful lights, shining brightly in tribute to those who are dearly missed, will be switched on at 6.30pm on both evenings.

Please, note there will be a limited number of spaces in the hospice car park at the Wetlands/Eco and The Mill Café. Alternatively, a shuttle bus will be running from the B&Q carpark (PR5 6BZ) from 5 pm to 6:15 pm and taking people back from 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm – Please, travel together if you are coming in a group. Parking at the back of the hospice is restricted to patient visitors and overflow for staff.

Our reception volunteer Linda Baldwin says: “The Light Up a Life evenings are emotional but also uplifting. Everyone comes together with a shared purpose to celebrate the lives of people we have lost, and to see the beautiful lights symbolising what they mean to us. Of course we think about the people we miss all year round, but the Christmas period is a poignant time when families gather and our loved ones are in our thoughts as we mark the festive season in our own ways.”

When you make a Light Up a Life dedication, your loved ones’ names will be written in our Light Up a Life Remembrance Book, and you will receive a personalised card to display at home. Dedications are welcome in memory of everyone, and the lights will shine brightly in our grounds throughout the festive season.

Please note that only dedications made before Monday 25th November 2024 will be included in the Light Up a Life Remembrance Book. Dedications are still welcome after this date, and will be added to the Light Up a Life Remembrance Book at a later date. The remembrance book, will also be available online, which will be available to view after the dedication evenings. For any further details, please, contact our reception team on 01772 629171.
