Stanley House Hotel and Spa has invested five figures in renovating and upgrading its wedding facilities.

The Mellor venue has transformed its largest function suite, which can now host a variety of events including gala dinners, charity fundraisers, exhibitions, conferences, and corporate occasions, but was designed with weddings specifically in mind.

The investment included a complete renovation of The Barn, to create a bright and welcoming space, and the lobby of the Grade II listed Manor House has been renovated in keeping with last year’s improvements, which also saw the investment of a five-figure sum.

Lake District-based interior designer, Sarah Jane Nielsen was enlisted to restore The Barn’s ‘authentic rustic charm’.

Philip Wharton, general manager at Stanley House Hotel and Spa, said: “The investment reaffirms that Stanley House truly is a destination of choice in the North.

“The Barn project has created a space that reflects what modern brides want most of all from a venue – neutral colours, with soft light and an air of understated luxury. We’ve also added an expanse of mirrors and chandeliers to create the sense of a large room designed in the grand style.”

The renovation means the Manor House rooms and function suites have been brought up to a standard in line with the hotel’s Woodlands and Spa building.
