The Federation of Small Businesses has appointed Lancashire & Cumbria regional chairman Gary Lovatt to its national board.
The announcement followed the organisation’s 2017 Annual General Meeting.
Mr Lovatt will take his place as a director alongside, amongst others, national chairman Mike Cherry and policy director Martin McTague.
FSB provides services to and representation for small business-owners and entrepreneurs, and was recently credited with influencing chancellor of the exchequer Philip Hammond’s U-turn on National Insurance contributions hike for the self-employed.
Gary Lovatt said: “It is a privilege to be appointed to the FSB Board. I have been a member of FSB for many years and we continue to be an organisation which is led by our members.
“These are exciting times for us with the launch of new membership categories and innovative new services and I look forward to playing my part in helping to drive us forward.”
