Lancashire housebuilder Kingswood Homes has been shortlisted in three categories at the Lancashire Property Awards 2026.
The regional housebuilder has been named as a finalist for Residential Housebuilder of the Year, while Horden Meadow, the latest phase of its flagship Green Hills development in Blackburn, has been shortlisted for both Residential Development of the Year and the Social Impact Award.
The triple shortlisting recognises Kingswood’s commitment to delivering high quality, sustainable homes, creating inclusive communities and putting customers at the heart of the homebuying process.
The Residential Housebuilder of the Year category celebrates businesses making an outstanding contribution to the quality and quantity of housing across the region. During the qualifying period, Kingswood maintained its Home Builders Federation five star rating for the fifth consecutive year, with 96 per cent of homeowners saying they would recommend the housebuilder to a friend. This secured Kingswood the highest customer satisfaction rating among housebuilders in the North West for the second time.
Kingswood has also continued to grow its presence across Lancashire, delivering homes at Green Hills in Feniscowles and Spinners Brook in Hoddlesden, while preparing to launch Hill Top Rise, an 85-home development in Whittle-le-Woods.
At the heart of the company’s customer-first approach is Shape Your Home, Kingswood’s flexible, design-led concept that allows buyers to choose from a range of internal layouts. Almost half of Kingswood customers have selected a non-standard layout since the concept was introduced, tailoring their homes around family life, homeworking, accessibility and changing needs.
Horden Meadow has earned two shortlist places for its approach to affordable housing, sustainability and inclusive placemaking. Delivered by Kingswood Homes in partnership with Together Housing Group, the phase provides 112 affordable homes through a mix of shared ownership and affordable rent opportunities.
The development takes a tenure blind approach, meaning there is no visual distinction between homes for private sale, shared ownership or affordable rent. This helps to create one integrated community in which every resident benefits from the same quality, design standards and access to shared green spaces.
Customers purchasing through shared ownership can buy from a 10 per cent share, creating a more accessible route onto the property ladder with the option to increase their ownership over time. Demand has been strong, with three quarters of homes sold off-plan by the end of 2025.
Sustainability is also central to Horden Meadow. Affordable homes include more than £16,000 of energy saving features, including solar PV panels, enhanced insulation and low-energy lighting. Homes available through Affordable Rent also benefit from air source heat pumps and are achieving an average 106 per cent reduction in CO₂ emissions compared with current Building Regulations, exceeding the Future Homes Standard and qualifying as zero carbon homes.
Horden Meadow forms part of the wider Green Hills community, which includes nine areas of open space equivalent to four full-size football pitches, with a further 14 acres planned. Residents are also invited to regular community events, including Easter activities, Halloween competitions, fireworks displays and Christmas celebrations, helping neighbours to connect and develop a strong sense of belonging.
James Brown, architectural director at Kingswood Homes, said: “To be recognised both as a housebuilder and for the quality and social impact of Horden Meadow is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
“Horden Meadow shows that affordable housing can be delivered without compromise. By combining high quality, tenure-blind design with exceptional sustainability features and accessible routes into homeownership, we are creating a genuinely inclusive community where people can feel proud to live.
“These shortlist places reflect the hard work of our team and partners, as well as our continued commitment to building distinctive homes and thriving communities across Lancashire.”
The winners will be announced at the Lancashire Property Awards ceremony on 22 October 2026.
