You are invited to join businesses throughout the county to celebrate the first ever Lancashire Business Day at a prestigious dinner event.

Lancashire Business Day will bring together and celebrate the county’s business community on Lancashire Day, November 27.

The event is being staged by Lancashire Business View magazine, organisers of the national award-winning Red Rose Awards, in partnership with Marketing Lancashire, the agency charged with promoting the county on a national and international stage and official Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Lancashire.

The event, created by the team behind the national award-winning Red Rose Awards, promises a night of Lancashire-themed entertainment, food and conversation. The event promises a night of top-flight celebration and entertainment featuring:

Nigel Haworth
Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth of Northcote has created a unique menu and will lead the kitchen on the night. Nigel regularly features on television shows including Saturday Kitchen and Market Kitchen and was also winner of the Great British Menu in 2009 which saw him competing to honour the men and women serving in Afghanistan with a glorious homecoming dinner.

Graham Liver & John ‘Gilly’ Gilmore

Lancashire Business Day will bring together Graham Liver, presenter on BBC North West Tonight and BBC Radio Lancashire’s breakfast show, and afternoon show host John ‘Gilly’ Gilmore, who was named Lancashire Tourism Superstar in 2016.

Throughout November the pair crossed the county in their Pudsey-mobile raising funds for Children in Need, and we’ll be hearing of their ‘Pedal for Pudsey’ exploits!

Simon Entwistle
Simon was named Lancashire Tourism Superstar in 2012 at the Lancashire Tourism Awards. He describes himself as a story-teller and hosts ghost walks and spooky tours across the county through his tourism business Top Hat Tours.

Barbara Nice

Barbara Nice is an Edinburgh Fringe stalwart, a fixture on the UK comedy circuit and a BBC Radio 4 regular working alongside the likes of Arthur Smith and in her own sitcom with John Henshaw. The event will call on business to support the Lancashire Day message which in 2016, Marketing Lancashire estimated the social media reach at more than 60m worldwide with #LancashireDay.

Richard Slater of Lancashire Business View said: “This is going to be one of the great nights in the county’s business calendar.

“We don’t get many chances as a business community to come together, but our job is to connect the county and this new event will do just that.

“We want business to get to know each other and find ways of collaborating, buying and selling.

“And we want to take the Lancashire business message to the world on Lancashire Business Day through a dedicated social media campaign.”

Maria Moriarty Eames of Marketing Lancashire said: “As champions of Lancashire as a place to work, live, invest and visit, Marketing Lancashire is pleased to be part of this new opportunity to celebrate Lancashire Day with the many fantastic businesses which help to make Lancashire a thriving and growing economy.

“Marketing Lancashire has led an annual campaign to get Lancashire Day trending on social media and has raised the profile of Lancashire Day across the globe with #LancashireDay seeing a potential reach of over 60 million people in 2016 and connecting with people in 924 locations across the world.

“This new event offers businesses of all kinds the chance to join in a day that proudly celebrates all things Lancashire and supports our campaign, ‘We Are Lancashire’.”
