Tribute to Robert Burns

The Guide Security Curry Club is a networking group with circa 150 members, which has been meeting in East Lancashire, on a bi-monthly basis, for the last few years. Their aim is to bring together businesses and key service providers to share how they can be of assistance to each, enjoy a superb curry, whilst raising over £1,000 to support local charities.

Guest speakers at the Curry Club have included Marketing Lancashire, The Hive, East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Lancashire Business View and the Bank of England.

In 2020, the Club wants members to experience new opportunities, other than just networking and to build on developing even stronger relationships, in more social and impressing settings.

One of the many highlights of the Guide Curry Club last year, was when the commercial director at Guide Security Services, Ken Currie, shared the story of the origins and the wearing of the Kilt and set the seeds for the club’s first Burns Night.

The Guide Curry Club founder, Bip Patel, has now decided to organise a fabulous ‘Tribute to Robert Burns’ night at Park Hall hotel on Tuesday 4 February 2020, for its business members and guests, in association with the Lavender Group of Hotels.

Commented Bip: “We have strong armed our Commercial Director Ken Currie into providing the most unconventional Burns Night “Immortal Memory” as part of a Guide Security Celtic extravaganza planned for the evening of 4th of February. Ken Currie, is both a raconteur and an expert on Robert Burns. It therefore seemed only appropriate to utilise this knowledge and experience to share a lovely and entertaining insight into Scotland’s most famous poet. The evening will follow the usual protocol of the Burns Supper, comprising the Pipers, a fabulous three course meal and the re-enacting of the well-known ‘address to the Haggis’.

“This year, we are pleased to announce that the honour of Addressing the Haggis at the Burns Night will go to Colonel Russell Miller OBE, the Army Commander in the North West, Fulwood Barracks, followed by one of the highlights of the evening, ‘The Immortal Memory’ given by Ken Currie.

“An event like this is only possible with the help and assistance of many people and companies. I am incredibly grateful to the headline sponsors ‘The CoStar Group’, our Media Partners LBV and the attendees who will make the evening a night to remember, with incredible people, in an incredible venue, celebrating an incredible person.

Anyone who is interested in attending, should email for booking information.
