Build a digital marketing plan featuring Google Digital Garage The Google Digital Garage project is part of Google’s commitment to providing free digital skills training to everyone across the UK. This FREE workshop will be delivered by Google Digital Garage. You’ll find out how to build a bespoke digital marketing plan for your small business - and ways to measure its success. Our tutor will also give you the lowdown on the main digital channels that are available and the types of goals they can help you achieve. Starting your own business This one day workshop provides you with a detailed look at all aspects of starting and running a business from marketing and business planning to understanding financial aspects within your business. At the end of this workshop you’ll be able to do your own research to see if your business idea is viable, put together a draft business plan and have an understanding of profit and loss and managing your cash flow. You’ll also be given an overview of tax and VAT issues. As well as a great opportunity to get some fantastic free information, this workshop is a great opportunity to talk to other local new business start-ups and swap experience and contacts. Boost your business – boost your rating The Council’s Food and Safety team is working with businesses who wish to improve their food hygiene rating. The Council is now promoting businesses with a 5 rating on Facebook and Twitter and is looking to help businesses to achieve this and comply with the law. Food businesses are invited to this informal session, which will review issues from their previous inspection and highlight what can be done to improve their rating. The Council will also give advice on how businesses can comply with allergen rules following recent incidents in Lancashire. Marketing online or flatline In this workshop you’ll get to grips with building an effective online marketing plan by understanding the three key aspects of online marketing: search optimisation, pay per click (such as Google AdWords) and social media platforms. Pendle Connects – Insiders Insights Hear from four of Pendle’s well known entrepreneurs who will share the secrets of their success at this popular, quarterly, free to attend event.
