Five new faces at Motionlab

By Motionlab

21 Apr 2015

A significant influx of new business in the opening quarter of 2015 has led to full-service digital marketing agency Motionlab appointing five new members of staff across its existing and newly implemented departmental areas.

Formerly senior web designer at The Daisy Group where he managed both their web and design teams, Geoff Hoyle assumes the role of senior front-end developer.

He will be looking to increase the efficiency of all upcoming project builds by utilising technologies not previously employed at Motionlab.

He said: “I have undertaken design, front end and template development roles in the past but wanted to solely specialise in front end development. I have been looking to get back into agency work because I enjoy working on different projects and the various challenges they present and Motionlab seemed like the perfect fit.”

In a never-ending aim to ensure Motionlab remains proficient and continues to build a secure business, the company has introduced a studio manager, a new role occupied by Kelly Stott.

Kelly arrives from healthcare giants Cegedim RX where she worked as a Scrum Master and ensured that its team of onshore and offshore testers and developers adhered to various values and practices. She was also a key account manager and latterly project manager at Exact Abacus.

Amongst her many duties, Kelly will be monitoring estimates, deadlines and work completion, facilitating internal meetings and assisting the studio to make certain of a smooth and coherent collaboration between work divisions.

Tom Sharp takes over account management of clients including the Glass and Glazing Federation and Furness College following a two-year spell at a design and web agency in Kendal after previously working for 10 years at the Lakeside Hotel in Windermere as sales and marketing manager.

His interest in digital marketing stems from when he got the opportunity to play with a content management system and began reading about the discipline in greater depth. This prompted him to complete a CIM qualification and subsequently source account management work at an agency.

To assist with the creation of a brand new internally fashioned piece of pioneering online marketing software, Chris Sharman has been brought on-board from electronic retail experts Cybertill where he was technical lead on security products.

Highly experienced with cloud based technology having used it when working on a browser based till and back office system at the Knowsley firm, he will be looking to assimilate current best practice in terms of coding principles and standards within a three-man team.

Finally, recent advertising and marketing graduate Ralitsa Dobreva will strengthen the firm’s digital marketing output and has responsibility for tracking, planning and implementing gainful online activities for a number of clients.

Originally from Bulgaria, Ralitsa has long had a passion for marketing and held the position of events manager for the Marketing Society at Lancaster University where she also worked in close conjunction with Unilever. Motionlab CEO Simon Iredale said: “Motionlab is fortunate enough to have a wealth of creative talent and I am delighted that we have managed to add strength in depth to the group by securing the services of five such highly skilled individuals. 2014 was a landmark year for the company as it marked our tenth year in business and saw us register a record turnover and 2015 is already shaping up to be just as momentous, something only achievable with a dynamic and dependable workforce.”
