Alcohol licence opens new markets for Exact Abacus

Chorley-based e-commerce fulfilment specialist Exact Abacus has secured a premises licence which will allow it to distribute alcoholic beverages.

Exact Abacus alcohol licenceThe new license enables Exact Abacus to offer the retailers it works with a complete turnkey service for alcohol sales, including storage, handling, kitting, dedicated packaging and delivery through an extensive roster of trusted carrier partners.

The move is in response to growing consumer demand for purchasing alcoholic drinks online, creating an opportunity to provide the specialist service to a fast developing segment of online retail.

Alcoholic beverage fulfilment adds to a growing portfolio of expert services from Exact Abacus, including white glove, dangerous goods, over-sized goods, organic products and Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime.

Exact Abacus’ sales and marketing director, Lee Thompson said: “As part of our focus on being the pre-eminent fulfilment partner for e-commerce businesses in the UK, we are continuously investing in our capabilities and identifying new services where we can make a difference to customers.

“The direct to consumer food and drink sector is poorly served at the moment and we’re delighted that licensing our fulfilment centre will enable more start up and niche retailers to take advantage of a growing consumer enthusiasm for direct alcohol sales online, allowing them to build their business with the help of a trusted fulfilment specialist.”
