We publish an award-winning magazine and stage award-winning, industry-leading events.

We are an independent business based in Lancashire and we’re planning to grow.

Lancashire Business View (LBV) has been the magazine for industry, commerce and regeneration in the county since 2005. We also have a large online presence which is updated daily; we distribute frequent online communications; and have a strong following on social media.

We stage around 30 events each year, mostly within the LBV events calendar and these range from themed debates for up to 10 delegates to the national award-winning Red Rose Awards which attracts more than 1,000 guests annually.

We are a small and dynamic team, and all contribute to the direction of the business.

Sales and business development

We are seeking a business development executive who can identify opportunities, generate ideas, help shape the next phase of our development and generate revenue for the business.

About the role

We are looking for someone who can be hands on and hit the ground running. Experience of working in a fast past B2B environment sales or business development roles is essential.

The job will involve:

  • Sales and business development support across all services and products
  • Seeking, sharing and converting new commercial opportunities for the business
  • Working closely with the marketing team to create effective, successful campaigns
  • Planning and scheduling commercial and business development activity
  • Data management including recording and tracking of information and regular reporting
  • Liaising with clients and developing customer relationships and partnerships
  • Working with the editorial team to generate ideas and new areas of growth for the magazine and related products
  • Attending networking events to represent Lancashire Business View in the business community across the region
  • Acting as an ambassador for all the company’s brands


  • Experience in a commercial / sales / business development role
  • A confident and persuasive communicator
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment
  • A motivated self-starter with a creative edge
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility for events outside of normal working hours
  • IT literate with knowledge and experience in Microsoft office programmes such as word, excel, powerpoint and outlook
  • Driving licence and access to a car


  • Experience of CRM or similar for use in commercial activity

Digital marketing apprentice

We are seeking a digital marketing apprentice to support the busy marketing and events team across all aspects of the business whilst bringing new digital thinking to the business.

This position is full-time with four days in the office and one day each week at college.

Our digital marketing apprentice will work across all of our brands including Lancashire Business View, Red Rose Awards, Sub36 and bring back a billion, covering:

  • Website updates, development, management and analytics
  • Email communications
  • Social media management
  • Animation and video
  • Data updates and management
  • Design and creativity in developing assets for our marketing campaigns
  • Event support and attendance
  • Leading on new digital ideas that will benefit the business.

Skills required:

  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • IT literate with knowledge and experience in Microsoft office programmes such as word, excel, powerpoint and outlook
  • Some understanding of digital marketing including websites, email communications, social media and analytics

  • Confident communicator
  • Creative and able to articulate ideas and suggestions
  • Flexibility for events outside of normal working hours
